Abstract

According to the Central Statistics Agency of Palembang City, the proportion of households and offices using PAM and bottled drinking water in 2016-2018 is 94.32%. This has led to the implementation of gallon water marketing agents, namely refill drinking water depots. One of the activities carried out by workers to deliver gallons is to take gallons through the stairs. In these activities, workers experience heavy workloads and complaints in body parts that cause worker productivity to gallons are not optimal, therefore it is necessary to do research to design tools to facilitate activities that reduce workloads and complaints on the workers' bodies, and are able to increase the number of gallons that workers can deliver. Based on research using the EFD method, a trolley with a length of 43 cm, a width of 41.55 cm and a height of 93.25 cm was designed with gallon safety features and a tricycle for driving media when passing stairs. Complaints on workers' body parts decreased by an average of 53.5%, workers' DNI decreased by 28.81%, workers' DNK decreased by 33.24%, workers' NK decreased by 36.61% and the average energy consumption of workers decreased 64.42% which is 92.40639707 Kcal/hour. With gallon delivery productivity increased by 67.54%. The cost incurred to make the tool is Rp. 1,206,150,-. Keywords: Trolley, Tool Design, Workload, EFD
