Abstract

Background: In mid-December 2019, a case of pneumonia was found in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The ICTV named this virus SARS-CoV-2 and the disease is called Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). Several laboratory examination methods are used to detect COVID-19, namely RT-PCR for detection of the SARS-CoV-2 gene, antigen rapid test used to detect SARS-CoV-2 antigen and antibody rapid test to detect antibody response to SARS-CoV-2. Objective: This study aims to determine whether there are differences in the results of the antigen rapid test and RT-PCR for the diagnosis of COVID-19 from samples with reactive rapid antibody test. Methods: The type of research conducted is a comparative non-experimental quantitative research. The research subjects were hospitalized patients with suspected COVID-19 with respiratory tract disorders, and were reactive to the antibody rapid test. Furthermore, the antigen rapid test was carried out with a nasopharynx swab sample, for RT-PCR, a nasopharynx swab sample and an oropharynx swab Result: The results of the study were 49 subjects with known reactive antibodies. On further examination with the antigen rapid test, 43 samples were positive (87,8%) and 6 samples were negative (12,2%), and the results of RT-PCR were 42 positive samples (85,7%) and 7 samples were negative (14,3%). Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there was no difference in the results of the SARS-CoV-2 examination using the antigen rapid test and RT-PCR methods. The value of sig.>0,05 (0,766>0,05). Suggestion: An antigen rapid test (STANDARD™Q COVID-19 Ag Test) may be considered for a rapid diagnose of COVID-19. Key Words: SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, rapid antigen test, rapid antibody test, RT-PCR.
