Abstract
Background: The number of health workers who died due to corona virus infection is something that cannot be underestimated and must be a concern for business owners in the health sector, especially hospitals to be able to provide more guarantees of occupational safety and health to their employees. The work of nurses during a pandemic is a job that poses a high risk of contracting which should be prevented through knowledge of overall occupational health and safety. Research purposes : To know the knowledge of nurses about Occupational Health and Safety in providing services in the Inpatient Room during the Covid-19 Pandemic Era. Methods: This study uses a quantitative research design that is a descriptive survey with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire or questions that are used to measure the knowledge of a group of people on social phenomena by using a questionnaire. The sample in this study were nurses in the inpatient room of RSI Siti Khadijah Palembang totaling 88 samples with purposive sampling technique. Primary data collection was carried out for 9 days from June 28– July 7, 2021. Results: Nurses' knowledge about Occupational Health and Safety in providing services in the Inpatient Room during the Covid-19 Pandemic Era, namely the most with good categories as many as 60 people (68.2%), 28 people (31.8%). and there is no knowledge with less category. This shows that most of the respondents have good knowledge about Occupational Health and Safety during the Pandemic. Suggestion: To health workers, especially nurses, to further increase knowledge about the importance of occupational health and safety during the Covid-19 pandemic and remain vigilant and adhere to the procedures for handling patients during this pandemic considering how dangerous the Covid-19 virus is very easily transmitted and so many medical team who have become victims Keywords: Covid-19 Pandemic, Knowledge, Occupational Health and Safety.
