Abstract
Background: Children with special needs are children who are in the process of growth and development experiencing obstacles or deviations either physically, mentally-intellectually, socially, or emotionally. ABK is highly susceptible to disease because each ABK has complex and specific health problems according to their disability. Therefore, thus children stay healthy and do not experience congenital disabilities or experience additional diseases, protection is needed, one of ways is immunization. Immunization is a simple, safe, and effective way to build immunity through vaccines to protect yourself from certain dangerous diseases or infections. Immunization is proven to prevent or reduce the incidence of illness, disability, and death due to PD3I. Basic immunization is a type of routine immunization given to infants before the age of one month, while advanced immunization is a repetition of basic immunization. Basic immunizations are included HB, BCG, DPT, Polio, Measles, and Hib. Objective: To know the description of completeness of immunization in children with special needs. Methods: This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive design. The number of samples in the study were 45 respondents with total sampling technique and univariate analysis. Results: The results of the study based on 45 respondents found the oldest age was 55 years and the average age was 37 years, the majority of mothers had high school education as many as 23 respondents and others did not work as many as 34 respondents. Completeness of child immunization was 25 respondents (55.6%) obtained immunization incompletely meanwhile 20 respondents (44.4%) obtained immunization completely. Suggestion: The results of this study are expected to motivate mothers and improve the provision of complete immunization to their children.
