Abstract

Background: Parental support is one of the things that can improve children's achievement. Children have a very close bond with their parents. Parents have a great obligation and responsibility for their children's education in the learning process, especially during the current Covid-19 pandemic. So that problems arise such as children's achievement during online learning has decreased. So it is necessary to do research on how the relationship between parental support and children's achievements during online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is necessary. Purpose: To know the relationship of parental support to the learning achievement of 5th grade elementary school children during online learning. Methods:The method used in this study is an analytical survey method with a cross-sectional design. Sampling using total sampling technique. So that obtained a sample of 67 respondents. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire and the value of the child's achievement report card. The data is processed using Kendal's tau test Result :The age of the majority of respondents is 11 years old, the gender is mostly female, the most parental support is in the good category 85.1% and the child's achievement is the most in the good category 73.1%. Obtained a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05) which means Ha is accepted so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parental support and child achievement. Suggestion:Researchers suggest that in addition to getting support from parents, respondents are expected to improve study habits at home and parents are expected to improve children's learning facilities in order to improve their learning achievement.
