Abstract

Background : The ongoing COVID-19 brings many changes and has an impact on the health sector. The disturbing impact is experienced by the world community and the people of Palembang City. The easy and fast transmission process requires all people to prevent COVID-19 and strict health protocols. So that the community must be able to apply COVID-19 prevention behavior, by preparing knowledge and readiness to receive vaccinations. Objective : this type of research is quantitative. The method used is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The sample amounted to 61 respondents obtained from a total population of 61 respondents in the community aged 20-40 years. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi Square test and the Kendall Tau test. Methods : this type of research is quantitative. The sample amounted to 61 respondents who were obtained from a total population of 61 respondents in the community aged 20-40 years. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi Square test and the Kendall Tau . test Results : The results showed that the age of the respondents with a median value of 31 years, the lowest age was 20 years and the oldest age was 40 years, 38 respondents (62.3%) were female, 54 respondents (88.5%) had secondary education, 49 respondents (80.3 %) have good knowledge, 54 respondents (88.5%) are not ready to vaccinate, 60 respondents (98.4%) are categorized as poor COVID-19 prevention. Significant results with p value = 0.529 (> 0.05) it can be concluded that there is no relationship between knowledge and readiness to receive vaccinations and there is no relationship between knowledge and prevention of COVID-19 with p value = 0.615 (> 0.05). Suggestion : The public should increase knowledge about COVID-19 prevention behavior and carry out vaccinations. Keywords : COVID-19, Knowledge, Prevention, Vaccination.
