Abstract

Needs are everything that humans need to maintain their natural survival through the attainment of prosperity. The most basic needs that must be met first are physiological needs. One way to meet physiological needs, in terms of food, drink, and clothing is by shopping. Some people prefer to shop in shopping centers because they get convenience and security in shopping because shopping centers have a more regular spatial pattern so as to form a good circulation pattern for their visitors. Palembang Icon shopping center located on Jl. POM IX, Lorok Pakjo, Ilir Barat I District, Palembang City, South Sumatra is a shopping center in Palembang City that has a good circulation pattern. This Palembang Icon has a mall circulation pattern, namely a linear circulation pattern, one lane which is intended so that all retailers get a strategic place and the circulation orientation becomes clear. In this architectural seminar report, the author will discuss the circulation pattern of the Palembang Icon shopping center and analyze its influence on the distribution of visitors by using the space syntax method with simulation using the DeepthMapX application.
