Abstract

Background:Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. Teenagers experience many changes both physically, psychologically, sexually and socially. These changes encourage teenagers to do new things that are considered interesting or fun. Adolescents often fall into casual sexual behavior and use drugs as a coping mechanism to face problems or just find their identity. Both of these behaviors are risk factors for HIV / AIDS. Objective: To investigate HIV/AIDS risky behaviors: Free sex and drug abuse of adolescents at Vocational High School X Palembang. Method:Total sampling technique was used to select the sample of this study.. Respondents were taken using total sampling technique and the research population was 55 students with a sample of 55 respondents consisting of 2 classes. The data was collected by filling out a questionnaire with univariate analysis. Results: Interms of attitude, the results revealed that there are 47 respondents (85.5%) withgood free sex attitude, 8 respondents (14.5%) with deficientfree sex attitude, 52 respondents (94.5%)with good drug abuse attitude and 3 respondents (5.5%) with deficientdrug abuse attitude.Meanwhile, in relation to behavior, the results showed that there are 1 respondents (1.8%) with low free sex behavior, 13 respondents (23.6%)with moderate free sexbehavior, 41 respondents (74.5%) with high free sex behavior, 1 respondents (1.8%)with low drug abuse behavior, and 54 respondents (98.2%)with moderate drug abuse behavior. Suggestion:Increase more positive attitudes and behaviorsthroughinside and outside school activitiesto prevent thenegative behaviors.
