Abstract

Griya Kain Tuan Kentang is a KUB which is engaged in the Palembang traditional handicraft industry, the products produced are woven fabrics and jumputan fabrics. This KUB produces based on forecasting, because in carrying out its production activities are make to stock. Of the two product groups produced by the company for this case study, only the blongsong type of woven fabric was examined. In the manufacturing process of woven fabrics that are produced has high quality standards, the process that is passed in making one woven fabric goes through three stages of the process. The number of processes that was passed caused a buildup of raw materials at the 3rd work station in which there were people and the machines or tools used. The way to overcome track imbalance is to do line balancing. Line Balancing is the assignment of work elements from an assembly line to the work station to minimize the number of work stations and minimize the total idle time price at all work stations for a certain level of output. By adding 23 units of machines, the potato master cloth house can increase the production of blongsong woven fabrics by 24 meters per day. From the calculation of the capacity of each station, it can be seen that there is an imbalance between the output of stations 1 and 2 with a machine / operator capacity of 128 meters per day while the third station has a machine / operator capacity of 1 meter per day.
