Abstract

This study examines the effect of budgetary participation towards budgetary slack with use of budget emphasis as a mediation variable. The population of this study are the managers of manufacturing company in Palembang. Samples are determined by using purposive sampling method. Samples can be used are 52 samples. This study uses primary data which obtained from the questionnaire by the respondents answer. Data analysis uses intervening regression analysis with SPSS ver. 20. The test results show that budgetary participation has significant effect towards budgetary slack, meanwhile budget emphasis does not significantly influence the budgetary slack. It means budget emphasis is not supported as a mediation variable in this study.
