Abstract
The purpose of this research is to develop a parenting-themed coloring book, which consists of English comprehension and mathematical questions that are valid for third graders of elementary school. The research method used is the research and development (R&D) of the Akker model. The R&D comprised three stages, namely: 1) analysis, 2) design, 3) evaluation and revision. Research subjects at this early stage were 3 validators in the field of English Language and 3 validators who were elementary school teachers. Data collection techniques employed direct interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used was a quantitative approach with a percentage of the validity of the coloring book and a qualitative approach that contains comments on addition and subtraction questions through the context of the coloring book. The results of this study are producing three valid prototypes for parenting-themed coloring book and family-related mathematical questions in the valid coloring books for grade III elementary school students.
