Abstract

The report entitled “Determination of Preventive Lube Oil Preventive Maintenance Intervals with the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Method” is the result of the author's practical work for 2 months (July 2019-September 2019) at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja especially in the Reliability Department. High downtime on machines is an average problem faced by companies today. This condition will certainly cause the company's production process to become ineffective. PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja is a company engaged in the manufacture of fertilizers. The type of production process of Factory II-B used at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja is a continuous production process that is a continuous production process in 1 work track that requires a special machine in the production process. The problem that often occurs is the condition of the machine that suddenly stopped due to several factors, one of which is frequent damage that makes the machine downtime or stops when the production process is running, the company only applies the corrective maintenance process so that the repair process only occurs downtime at production machine. The Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method is used to calculate the highest total Risk Priority Number (RPN) on engine components that must be repaired and RCM to determine the needs of all physical assets (machines) in the reliability of carrying out their operations. RCM has the advantage of determining a maintenance program that is focused on critical machines and avoids unnecessary maintenance activities by determining appropriate maintenance intervals. With the application of the RCM method is expected to help companies in the production machine maintenance process in order to know the time interval between machine damage so that we get an outcome for the proper scheduling of preventive maintenance.
