Abstract

Songket cloth is a cultural heritage of the Srivijaya kingdom which is still developing today. This research aims to determine the study of songket motifs, flat shapes and social arithmetic on Palembang songket motifs. This research is a type of qualitative research with an ethnographic approach, research subjects from two resource persons, namely weavers and operational managers in the songket fabric production house. Methods and data collection techniques in this study using interviews, documentation and observation. The researcher data analysis technique used the stages according to Spradley, the results of the study can be concluded that: dragon besaung motif, antique limar motif, chain star flower motif, red chinese flower motif and besaung dragon motif, there are flat shapes in the form of kites, rhombuses, squares. long, and a triangle. On the results of Palembang songket fabric products, there is social arithmetic which is the selling price. Keywords: songket cloth, ethnomatematics, flat wake and social arithmetic
