Abstract

Background: According to Indonesia Republic health departmen dengue fever cases are the most common around their school areas, the environment around school which not very healthy is the potential place for dengue fever contagion, therefore at this age the children are better to get health education about dengue fever to improve their knowledge and to prevent the dengue fever contagion. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to knowing the differentation of knowledge degree abaout dengue fever before and after health education for 5 grade student at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ahliyah 2 Palembang 2016. Method: this research used quantitative method with pre-experiment design withone group pre-post layout. The population of this research is the whole 5A and 5B students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ahliyah 2 Palembang. This sampling used total sampling technique with the amount of sample 42 respondents. Result: statistic test result is using wilcoxon signed ranks test, and dominantly the knowledge degree before getting the health education which a non proper education is 25 (59,5%) and knowledge degree after health education which dominantly a proper education is 23 (54,8%) and the p-value=0,001<0,025 obtained which means there are a difference befor and after the health education given for 5 grade student. And we are all expect that all teachers would give health education about dengue fever more intensively in order to make the children become more aware about the danger of dengue fever and how to prevent it.
