Abstract

Background: Caring is an action taken by the nurse in giving support to the patient as a whole sincerely and giving meaning to the life of the patient. Caring is very important to implement because it can help someone to improve health status. Nurse actions performed by nurses every day can produce an experience for nurses in applying caring behavior. In applying Caring behavior has a positive impact so that researchers are interested in delving deeper into the experience of nurses in applying caring behavior Aim: this study aims to explore, explore and analyze in depth the behavior of Caring Nurses in the Inpatient Room of Myria KM 7 Palembang Hospital. Method: This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach, an analytical method used by colaizzi data analysis. Data was obtained from 4 participants through an in-depth interview process. Results: the results of the study obtained 10 themes, namely: 1) nurse knowledge in applying caring behavior, 2) forming humanistic and alturistic values, 3) generating beliefs and expectations, 4) instilling sensitivity to oneself and others, 5) fostering trusting relationships, 6) nurses 'efforts to accept patient complaints, 7) Nurses' efforts in providing psychological, physical and spiritual environment 8) Nurse's efforts help meet patient needs, 9) Obstacles in applying caring behavior, 10) Efforts to deal with obstacles in applying caring behavior. Conclusions and Suggestions: nurses in applying caring behavior are only seven karative factors that are applied because nurses are not aware of the actions that have been carried out so far including the care attitude of nurses to patients. It is expected that nurses can increase their knowledge about caring behavior to patients.
