Abstract

This study aims to determine how the level of financial literacy and the level of financial planning of young couples. In addition, this study also aims to examine the effect of financial literacy on financial planning of young couples in Palembang. The intended respondents in this study were young couples who took a marriage preparation course in the Archdiocese of Palembang, with a total of 403 respondents involved. Financial Literacy Variables can be divided into two, namely basic and advanced. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive statistical analysis, cross tabulation, validity, reliability, and classic assumption test. Hypothesis testing is done by using the t test which involves multiple regression models. The results showed the level of financial literacy of young couples in Palembang was quite good (moderate), while the level of financial planning of young couples was also relatively good. Financial Literacy has a significant positive effect on financial planning of young couples. The implication is that education financial literacy improvement is needed by young couples who will foster households so that they are increasingly able to plan their finances well.
