Abstract
Background: Patients with critical illness need recovery of vital organ functions that refuse health and are at risk of dying. Patients who interpreted ICU in Australia each year reached 2300 and patients were interpreted at the Charitas Hospital KM ICU. 7 of 2016 amounting to 114, in 2017 replacing 229, patients and in 2018 reached 313 patients, thus requiring assistance from large families Aimed: This study aims to discuss and discuss more about family experiences that discuss Critical Illness in the Charitas KM Hospital's Intensive Care Room (ICU). 7 Palembang Method: This study uses qualitative research methods using phenomenology. Participation in this study was in the experiment of 6 wives. Data was obtained by successful interviews with 6 wives. Data analysis using Colaizzi analysis Research Results: The results of the study obtained seven themes, namely: 1) wife's feelings towards patients who are understood with critical illness, 2) wife's perception of critical illness, 3) wife's difficulties while understanding patients who understand critical illness, 4) patients translated with critical illness, 5) wife's expectation with the patient's condition in critical illness translated in the ICU room, 6) wife's opinion on service, 7) wife's efforts while accompanying patients with critical illness. Based on the expected research results for Charitas KM Hospital. 7 Palembang to provide rest rooms for families who need and serve not only for patients but also for families who accompany patients, because for the family they can help with the care and care of patients
