Changes in muscle structure in the elderly can cause a decrease in the number and size of muscle fibers, an increase in connective tissue and fat tissue in the muscles, decreased muscle strength, decreased speed, and decreased muscle functional ability. Related movements in the muscles that can be done range of motion exercises (ROM). This study aims to determine the knowing the differences in motion before and after ROM. This study is a quantitative with a pre-experiment design without control, by observing the differences before and after the intervention was chosen not randomly, the elderly population lived in the 7th floor of their homes, the sample in this study was 12 respondents. Interventions were given diving 8 times, twice a week, namely Monday and Thursday. The activity was carried out in February 2019. The results showed an the age of the respondents ranged from 63 years to 95 years, with a mean of 75 years. Most respondents had moderate pretest RPS on their fingers, meeting hands and shoulders, and were limited to their elbows. While RPS is along the lower limb joints. Most respondents had extensive posttest RPS in the upper and lower limb joints. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship increase in all joints in both upper and lower extremities (p≤0.01). ROM is very useful for helping elderly people who need joint stiffness. Suggestions Active ROM exercises can be one of the programs routinely used as rehabilitation therapy in the elderly.
