Abstract
Background: knowledge becomes the basis of a nurse's behavior, patient safety culture shows knowledge of a nurse's application in psien safety. Medication error is one measure of patient safety achievement. Medication error is a mistake in the treatment to implement an action that can be avoided. Data on many medication errors are reported because of awareness of medical personnel, both doctors, nurses, and pharmacists have been good at reporting patient safety incidents during the medication process. Objective: to know the relation between knowledge and attitude of nurse with prevention of medication error in Installation of Inpatient I RS. RK. Charitas Palembang. Method: using the analytical survey method through cross sectional approach and the number of samples of 90 respondents. Result: got nurse knowledge about medication error 52.2% less good, attitude of nurse 64,4% positive, and prevention medication error equal to 96.7% good. The correlation test showed no significant correlation between nurse knowledge with prevention of medication error (p = 0,612 > 0,05), and also no significant correlation between nurse attitude with prevention of medication error (p = 0.255 > 0.05). Conclusion: there is no relation between knowledge and attitude of nurse with prevention of medication error in Installation of Inpatient I RS. RK. Charitas Palembang. Supervision from the head of space and ongoing training to all nurses can optimally improve the nurse's positive knowledge and attitude about preventing medication errors.
