Abstract

Background: the library is a source of learning for students, reading books and places to find the sources of books learned. Lebraries in Indonesia have been very strong and can be found in schools and outside schools, library use in general only 430,000 people per year in the most complete library in Indonesia (2014). Aim : This study aims to analyze the relationships developed with the cumulative grade point of students of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Musi Charitas Catholic University in Palembang. Method : This research uses analytical survey method with cross sectional design. With total sampling with a population of 83 respondents and a sample of 83 respondents with regard to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis using Kendall Tau statistical test. Result : The most extensive use of libraries in the Faculty of Health of the Catholic University of Musi Charitas in Palembang is with the number of respondents 64 (77.1%), while the average cumulative grade point results of the students getting the highest IPK are very satisfying with 44 (53, 0%). The results of the Kendall’s test analysis found that p-value 0.003 or <0.005 with the correlation value between variables obtained r = 0.377. The conclusion is that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is a relationship between the use of the library and the cumulative grade point of students of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Musi Charitas Catholic University in Palembang with the strength of the relationships between variables that are quite strong.
