Abstract

Libraries have an important role as a means of supporting education in the city of Palembang, especially in the era of information technology today. The city of Palembang has many libraries which are owned by each school. However, most of the school libraries still did not apply computer technology and did book collection manually so that the condition of the books in the school library was not maintained properly, one of them was in Palembang Xaverius 7 library. Lack of school awareness in implementing computer technology and lack of information and skills of library staff in using computers is the cause of this problem. The presence of computer media has become a practical medium for its use so that it helps library officers in registering books that enter or exit the library of Palembang 7th Xaverius Middle School. Therefore, the creation of a desktop-based program named AKU - PERPUS (Library Book Inventory Application) was carried out as an effort to overcome this problem. making this program based on desktop programming that uses the development of the waterfall model and consists of the Visual Basic and Microsoft Access 2010 programming languages as the database. This program was designed in such a way that it was easily accessible by the Xaverius 7 Palembang Middle School library staff. The results of making this program can make it easier for Library Officers to record, process and archive data books that enter or exit the library.
