Abstract
The process of raw material’s procurement and it’s availability is one of significant factor in supporting production to cover consumer’s requestment. Because of that, the exaclty plan on distribution of raw material is required. Observation at PT Sinar Musi Cemerlang as producer of many kinds of furniture take un-exactly plan of raw material’s supply for bed’s production as the topic. The company have tendency to order the raw material as per consumer’s requestment at the moment, which make the cost of ordering become to be higher and take many time to wait the delevery of raw materials. Before make an planning of raw material availability, PT Sinar Musi Cemerlang used silver meal’s method for calculate some calculation such as ordering cost, safety stock, lot size and reorder point with the result: 3346 pcs of m-guard raw material, 25 pcs of peer hr, 56 cotton sheet, 44 box of vega’s stapler and 67 m of textile which the total cost for half year: IDR 21.112.000. The result of silver meal for lot size found that there are 12 times of ordering m-guard, peer hr, textile and 8 times of vega’s stapler and cotton sheet. And for reorder point: 29.662 pcs of m-guard, 1987 pcs peer hr, 1491 cotton sheet, 425 box of vega’s stapler and 575 meter of textile. The final result from silver meal calculation of availability plan IDR 7.923.626.565 which the actually from company IDR 8.259.966.797 safety about 4,07%.
