Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and learning anxiety with academic procrastination behavior in students of SMP X Palembang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population in this study were students of grades VII and VIII of SMP X Palembang with a sample of 200 students selected using accidental sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using a self-efficacy scale, a learning anxiety scale, and an academic procrastination scale distributed through Google Form. Data analysis techniques used include normality tests, linearity tests, Pearson correlations, and multiple correlation analysis. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and academic procrastination behavior (0.663),as well as a significant negative relationship between learning anxiety and academic procrastination behavior (0.074) in students of SMP X Palembang. In addition, self-efficacy and learning anxiety together had a significant relationship with academic procrastination behavior. This study is expected to be a consideration for schools and parents in helping students reduce academic procrastination behavior.
