Abstract

Background: Premarital pregnancy among adolescents is a reproductive health issue that can have physical, psychological, social, and educational impacts. The risk of premarital pregnancy can be influenced by various factors. Good knowledge, positive attitudes, and optimal parental involvement are expected to help adolescents avoid risky behaviors. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and parental involvement with the risk of premarital pregnancy among adolescent girls. Method: An analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach was used with 80 respondents using a total population sampling technique. The measurement tool used was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Kendall's Tau-B test. Results: Most of the study respondents were 16 years old, with good knowledge (96.3%), good attitudes (96.3%), good parental involvement (85%), and a low-risk pregnancy (92.5%). Data analysis showed no relationship between knowledge and the risk of premarital pregnancy (p=0.076), no relationship between attitude and the risk of premarital pregnancy (p=0.617), and a relationship between parental role and the risk of premarital pregnancy (p=0.000). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, there is no significant relationship between knowledge and attitude and the risk of premarital pregnancy in adolescent girls, while there is a significant relationship between parental role and the risk of premarital pregnancy in adolescent girls. Suggestion: This study is expected to increase adolescent girls' awareness of the risks of premarital pregnancy, which can have many negative impacts on their daily lives.
