Abstract

Private school teachers face various job demands, limited welfare conditions, and professional pressures that may affect their psychological well-being. One important indicator of psychological well-being is flourishing, which refers to an individual’s optimal functioning in both personal and professional life. Meaning of work and social support are considered important factors that may contribute to enhancing flourishing among private school teachers. This study aims to examine the relationship between meaning of work and social support with flourishing among private school teachers in Palembang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 97 private school teachers selected using purposive sampling, with instruments including the meaning of work scale, social support scale, and flourishing scale, and analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between meaning of work and flourishing (r = 0.757; p < 0.05), as well as a positive and significant relationship between social support and flourishing, and simultaneously both variables were significantly related to flourishing. In conclusion, higher levels of meaning of work and social support are associated with higher levels of flourishing, highlighting the importance of enhancing these factors to support teachers’ psychological well-being.
