Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effects of compensation and workload on the welfare of online motorcycle taxi drivers in Palembang City. The research was motivated by several welfare-related problems, including income instability, high application service deductions, limited social protection, and substantial work demands that must be fulfilled to earn an adequate income. A quantitative approach using a survey method was employed. The research population comprised all active online motorcycle taxi drivers in Palembang City, while the sample was selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed through instrument quality testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression analysis, partial testing, simultaneous testing, and the coefficient of determination. The results demonstrate that compensation has a positive and significant effect on the welfare of online motorcycle taxi drivers in Palembang City. Workload was also found to have a significant effect on driver welfare. Simultaneously, compensation and workload significantly affect the welfare of online motorcycle taxi drivers. These findings indicate that driver welfare can be improved through adequate compensation and proportional workload management. Policies concerning service fares, application deductions, incentives, working hours, and social protection should therefore be formulated more fairly to support the sustainable welfare of online motorcycle taxi drivers.
