Abstract
A priest is a man who chooses to live a celibate life and fully dedicates himself to God through service to others. The call to priesthood is a response to God’s will that is experienced personally and deeply. In the process, becoming a priest is not a simple decision, but involves various considerations and complex inner struggles. Decision-making is a process in which a person chooses among several alternative options based on certain considerations. This study aims to determine how the decision-making process of becoming a priest among Generation Z takes place. The research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection technique was carried out through semi-structured interviews with five subjects who are Generation Z priests. The results of the study show that the decision-making process of becoming a priest begins with an initial interest in priesthood, followed by a consideration phase marked by doubts and inner conflicts, and reaches a turning point that strengthens the decision to become a priest. This process is influenced by personal experience, social relationships, and deep and continuous spiritual experiences.
