Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the deep learning approach within the Independent Curriculum at Indriasana Elementary School, Palembang, covering aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as findings of supporting and inhibiting factors. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included teachers, the principal, and students in grades I, IV, and VI. The results showed that the implementation of deep learning was carried out through three main stages. In the planning stage, teachers developed deep learning teaching modules in accordance with the Independent Curriculum, taking into account student characteristics and designing activities that encouraged student activeness. In the implementation stage, learning took place in a varied manner through group discussions, the use of digital media, and provocative questions that foster critical thinking and two-way interaction. In the evaluation stage, assessments emphasized the process, conceptual understanding, and character building through reflection and authentic assessment. Findings of supporting factors included school support, availability of facilities, and teacher creativity, while inhibiting factors included limited time, heterogeneity of student abilities, and uneven teacher understanding. Overall, the implementation of deep learning went well and had a positive impact on student engagement and understanding. Keywords: Deep Learning, Independent Curriculum, Learning Implementation.
