Abstract

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a preventable and treatable chronic lung disease characterized by persistent and progressive airflow limitation, resulting in shortness of breath and decreased oxygen saturation. Therefore, intervention using the tripod position is recommended to increase oxygen saturation in patients with COPD. Objective: To increase oxygen saturation using the tripod position in patients with COPD. Method: This research used a case study design using tripod position therapy. Three participants participated, and the intervention was conducted over a period of three days. Results: The results of the tripod position application showed a 3% increase in oxygen saturation in Mr. L, a 1% increase in oxygen saturation in Mr. C, and a 3% increase in Mr. A. Conclusion: The tripod position application has an effect on gradually increasing oxygen saturation in COPD patients. Recommendation: This intervention is expected to be implemented as a non-pharmacological therapy to increase oxygen saturation in COPD patients
