Abstract

Education is an important aspect that must be attained by everyone. The advancement of the times demands human resources to think creatively, to create new innovations, and to be capable of solving problems supported by education for children as the nation's future generation. However, in the outskirts of Palembang City, specifically in Sungai Pedado, insufficient economic factors have halted the education of the younger generation. The planning and design of Rumah Belajar Ceria serve as a solution to accommodate the learning activities of the children and the community of Sungai Pedado by creating a serene nature school concept that incorporates ecological architecture themes and a combination of metaphorical approaches adjusted to the local environmental conditions. With the presence of Rumah Belajar, it is hoped that it can improve the quality of the children and the community of Sungai Pedado to continue learning and developing in their lives.
