Abstract

Background: Diabetic patients are more susceptible to pressure ulcers than non-diabetic patients due to impaired circulation, peripheral neuropathy, immune and metabolic system disorders, and limited wound healing and mobility, which can lead to pressure ulcers. Pressure ulcers are wounds caused by pressure on the skin due to prolonged standing. Proper wound care for diabetic patients is crucial to prevent serious complications. The moist wound healing method is a modern approach to wound care that emphasizes maintaining wound moisture to accelerate wound healing. Objective: To determine the application of modern wound care using the moist wound healing method to diabetic wounds. Methods: This is a descriptive study describing the care of pressure ulcers in diabetic patients using the moist wound healing method using a case study approach. Results: Based on the results of the implementation of Evidence Based Practice (EBP), it can be concluded that the application of moist wound healing wound care is more effective, as evidenced by the results of wound assessment using the PUSH scale, which showed a decrease in score changes in 3 patients with 3 intervention processes, namely patient 1 Mrs. C's initial score of 10 decreased to 9, patient 2 Mr. A's initial score decreased to 10 and patient 3 Mrs. R's score on the 3rd day, initially 14 decreased to 13 after the moist wound healing method was administered. Suggestion: It is hoped that the results of this study can provide knowledge about the moist wound healing method of wound care.
