Abstract
Inventory is a crucial aspect in supporting the smooth production process in manufacturing companies. Suboptimal inventory management can lead to the risk of excess or shortage of stock, which impacts operational costs and disrupts the production process. This study aims to analyze the inventory control system for coal and cement bags and determine minimum and maximum inventory levels using the Min–Max method at PT Semen Baturaja Tbk. The research employed the Min–Max method with a quantitative approach based on historical data on material usage and purchases. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Parameters calculated included safety stock, minimum inventory, maximum inventory, reorder point (ROP), and order quantity. The results showed that the safety stock for coal was 23,522.65 tons and for cement bags was 1,022,373 units. The minimum coal inventory is 59,371.65 tons and the maximum is 95,220.65 tons, while the minimum inventory for cement bags is 2,308,373 units and the maximum is 3,593,801 units. The reorder point value indicates that reorders should be placed before stocks reach critical levels to avoid inventory shortages during lead times. The Min–Max method has proven quite effective in inventory control because it provides clear, simple, and easy-to-implement control limits. This method helps companies maintain a balance between material availability and inventory cost efficiency.
