Abstract
Background : Hallucinations are one of the mental disorders where patients experience sensory perception disorders, feeling false sensations in the form of sounds, touch, sight, and smell. The type of hallucination most commonly experienced is auditory hallucination. One of the efforts made to reduce the signs and symptoms of auditory hallucinations is through classical music therapy. Objective : To determine nursing care with the application of classical music therapy in patients with auditory hallucinations at the Mitra Mulia Husada Foundation in Palembang. Method : A descriptive study design was used to describe the cases of four patients with auditory hallucinations. Subjects were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The intervention consisted of classical music therapy for five days, lasting 10-15 minutes per session. Results : After implementing classical music therapy for 5 days, with each session lasting 10-15 minutes, there was a decrease in hallucination scores as indicated by the observation sheets for each patient. Conclusion : There was a decrease in auditory hallucination scores in each patient after being given classical music therapy. Suggestion : For future researchers, it is recommended that classical music therapy be applied more frequently and that more respondents be included so that the therapy provided is more effective in reducing the symptoms of hallucinations experienced by patients.
