Abstract

In the era of increasingly rapid digital technological advancements, elementary school students are increasingly familiar with digital devices. Ease of access makes students inseparable from digital devices, especially playing online games. This makes students vulnerable to addiction and weak digital literacy. This study aims to analyze the literacy skills of high-grade students who are addicted to online games at SD Negeri 7 Air Kumbang. With a focus on three indicators of digital literacy: photovisual literacy, reproduction literacy, and information literacy. A descriptive qualitative approach was used through in-depth interviews with 15 students in grades 4-6 who were identified as addicted based on the Game Addiction Scale (GAS), observations of digital literacy skills and a digital literacy skills questionnaire. The results of the study obtained that students' digital literacy skills were in the sufficient category with an average score of (62.08). The average value obtained for each indicator shows that the digital literacy aspects are in the good category, namely photovisual literacy with an average value of (70.73), reproduction literacy is in the less category (40.86) and information literacy is in the good category with an average value of (74.66). Students' digital literacy skills show a cross-platform gap. Although students are very proficient in operating gadgets, they have difficulty in operating computers that are technical and logistical.
