Abstract
Kata kunci : Depresi postpartum, bu postpartum Background: Postpartum depression (PPD) is a mood disorder experienced by mothers after childbirth and can have negative impacts on the mother. It may hinder the breastfeeding process, reduce a mother’s confidence in providing breast milk, and disrupt the mother–infant bond. PPD can be triggered by hormonal changes, incomplete physical recovery, and lack of social support. It may also affect the baby’s condition, such as premature birth, low birth weight, sleep and feeding problems, and delays in cognitive, psychological, neurological, and motor development. Symptoms include unexplained crying, mood changes, social withdrawal, and thoughts of harming oneself or the baby. Objective: To determine the incidence of postpartum depression among postpartum mothers at Griya Bunda Ceria Independent Midwife Practice. Methods: This study used a descriptive quantitative design. The population consisted of 35 postpartum mothers using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Postpartum Depression Screening Scale (PDSS) questionnaire and analyzed using univariate analysis. Results: The results showed that the average age of respondents was 28.4 years. Most had secondary education (50.0%), were primiparous (60.0%), had an average birth interval of 1.14 years, and 27 respondents (77.1%) had normal delivery. A total of 18 respondents (51.4%) experienced postpartum depression, while 17 respondents (48.6%) did not. Among those with depression, 11 respondents (31.4%) had depressive symptoms and 7 respondents (20.0%) had a high probability of postpartum depression. Conclusion: Some postpartum mothers at PMB Griya Bunda Ceria experienced postpartum depression. Suggestion: Early screening, education, and psychological support for postpartum mothers are recommended. Keywords: postpartum depression, postpartum mothers
