Abstract

Apartement building in Palembang is designed as a clean, secure, nice, and comfortable vertical housing. Increasing number of population and land shortage for housing raised the need for vertical housing construction. This apartment building is located at Letkol. Iskandar Street near the city center. It is located near public facilities, such as schools, places of worship, shops, shopping center, housing, offices, and banks. Moreover, in the apartment site itself there are facilities like adult’s swimming pool, children’s swimming pool, fitness center, retail shop, and spacious open space. All those facilities are expected to help the inhabitants of the apartment to meet their needs. The design concept for Apartment in Palembang is “simple”. It is shown, for example, from its mass basic form which is consist of staight lines and rectangular forms. There are three types of units in the apartment, namely one bed room type, two bed room type, and three bed room type. Each unit has bed room, pantry, bathroom, living room, and balcony. Each unit’s room order and facilities will make its inhabitant feel comfortable, not very much different from living in a landed house.
