Abstract

Background: A problem that often arises in pediatric patients with bronchopneumonia is the accumulation of secretions in the airway which can have an impact on changes in breathing patterns. Interventions that can be carried out are chest physiotherapy to maximize airway clearance and become effective again Objective: To determine the effectiveness of chest physiotherapy (clapping) on airway clearance in children with bronchopneumonia Method: The application of EBP with the implementation of chest physiotherapy uses a case study method with a nursing care approach carried out on 3 patients with a medical diagnosis of bronchopneumonia for 3 days with a duration of 1-2 minutes. The measuring instrument in this research uses stethoscope and clock,the results of which are recorded on an observation sheet Results: After chest physiotherapy (clapping), it was found that the three patients experienced effective airway clearance as indicated by normal respiratory frequency, no additional breath sounds (ronchi), and decreased secretion production. Suggestion: Airway clearance was effective in 3 patients after application of chest physiotherapy EBP
