Abstract
This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of competence and motivation on the performance of star-rated hotel employees in Palembang City. The type of approach used in this study is quantitative. The technique used for sampling is Non-Probability Sample with Purposive Sampling which is determined based on criteria consisting of permanent employee status, having worked for at least 1 (one) year, and working in service departments such as receptionists, waiters/waitresses, and housekeeping. Data collection techniques are carried out by distributing online questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS software version 25. The results are competence and motivation has a positive and significant effect on the performance of star-rated hotel employees in Palembang City.
