Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the relationship between transformational leadership style and work-life balance with employee engagement in private companies. Increasingly competitive business competition requires companies to optimize human resource performance, one of which is through increasing employee engagement. Low employee engagement can lead to decreased productivity and increased turnover. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research sample consisted of PT X employees aged 20–50 years with more than one year of service. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale distributed online via Google Form. The reliability values of the transformational leadership style scale were 0.939, the work-life balance scale 0.937, and the employee engagement scale 0.945. The results of the first minor hypothesis test showed that transformational leadership style has a relationship with employee engagement with a significance of 0.00. The results of testing the second minor hypothesis show that work-life balance has a relationship with employee engagement with a significance value of 0.00. The results of testing the major hypothesis show that transformational leadership style and work-life balance have a relationship with employee engagement with a significance value of 0.00. Based on the results of hypothesis testing show that all hypotheses are accepted.
