Abstract

This Internship Report aims to analyze and evaluate the management of medication storage in the Pharmacy Warehouse at Charitas Hospital Belitang. As part of the supply chain management system, medication storage plays a crucial role in maintaining stable medication quality, ensuring medication safety, and facilitating distribution to healthcare facilities. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, through direct field observations and in-depth interviews with pharmacy logistics staff. Observations were made on four key indicators: the physical condition of the warehouse building, storage practices, accuracy of stock records, and regular medication quality monitoring. The inspection results indicate that the medication storage system at Charitas Hospital Belitang is operating smoothly and meets the standards of Minister of Health Regulation No. 72 of 2016 and the 2010 Pharmaceutical Development Guidelines. The hospital has implemented the FIFO and FEFO systems to reduce the risk of expired medications, and utilizes a "U" flow spatial arrangement system to facilitate more efficient inventory management. However, there are technical challenges in the form of pest infestations (rats) that can damage IV fluid packaging. As an improvement effort, management is advised to tighten warehouse isolation and install tighter pest barriers to maintain drug quality and sterility.
