Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Corporate Governance, namely Independent Commissioners and the Audit Committee, as well as leverage on Firm Performance (ROA) in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021–2024 period. Using a quantitative method with a purposive sampling technique, a sample of 147 companies (588 observations) was obtained. Due to the data not being normally distributed, the analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the bootstrapping method. The results show that partially and simultaneously, independent commissioners, the audit committee, and leverage have no significant effect on firm performance. These findings indicate that the governance mechanisms in the sample companies only serve as regulatory compliance and have not been optimal in improving corporate profitability.
