Abstract

The Muslim society of today is experiencing a decline in their understanding of Islam in which one of the causes is due to the world’s development. Some of them have the tendencies to focus more on the dimension of the world rather than after death even more totally abandoning the world. Whereas, Islam has taught humans to build their life in this world or to conduct worship to Allah SWT in preparing the life after death equally. Palembang city is one of the cities in Indonesia that has become the spotlight of the world due to international events held in Palembang in which has become the pride of its people. Palembang has become the host of Sea Games 2011, Islamic Solidarity games 2013, and the last one Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran International 2014. Yet, these events were held in inconvenient venues. To handle this case, it is needed to develop a new venue in a form of foundation or institution which functions as the Islamic central activity or an Islamic center. Having design with post modern traditional architecture style will give an impression of a Palembang traditional nuance, with the concept of beauty in worship.
