Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of quality costs and promotion costs on the profitability of manufacturing companies in Palembang. This type of research is a kind of field study research through survey. The sample used in this study is a financial manager with 40 respondents and sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used are validity and reliability, classic assumption test, t-test, f-test, andthe coefficient of determinationR2 test.The results of the study showed that independent variable (X) able to explain 28,6% profitability of company and the balance of 71,4% explained by other variables not included in this study. Partial test results (t-test) shows the cost of quality affects profitability while the promotional has no effect on profitability.
