Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the differences in school well-being in superior high school students in the city of Palembang and to see the results of the comparison between schools with superior status in private and public schools in Palembang. This research is expected to provide theoretical benefits to science, especially in the fields of educational psychology, clinical psychology and positive psychology. In this study, the research design used is a comparative research with a quantitative approach that aims to compare two or more research samples in a variable. The data collection technique used is the School well-being Scale in the form of a likert scale Konu & Rimpelä (2002) defines School well-being as a state that can enable individuals to meet their basic needs, including having (school facilities), loving (social relationships), being (self-fulfillment), and health (health). School well-being is very important for the world of education, especially for students in schools. Based on the results of the independent test of the t-test sample in this study, there is a difference between Private High School and Public High School with the average value (mean) of Private High School which is 123.7439 which means lower than the average value (mean) of State High School which is 128.5526. This explains that there is a difference in SWB (School Well-Being) in private high school students and public high school students.
