Abstract

Method: This study is a quantitative study with a Quasi Experiment design using the Pre-Post Test Non-Equivalent Control Group approach. The number of respondents was 68, consisting of 34 respondents in the intervention group and 34 respondents in the control group. Results: These results indicate an increase in knowledge in both groups after the education was provided. There was a significant difference between pretest and posttest knowledge in both the intervention and control groups (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in posttest results between the audiovisual media and the leaflets (p > 0.05), indicating that both media were equally effective in increasing knowledge about coronary heart disease prevention. Conclusion: Health education using audiovisual media and leaflets has proven effective in increasing knowledge about coronary heart disease prevention. However, there was no significant difference in effectiveness between the two media, so both can be used as alternatives in providing health education. Suggestion : Respondents are expected to be able to apply knowledge from audio- visual media and leaflets in their daily lives, such as maintaining a diet, exercising regularly, avoiding smoking, and managing stress, as well as actively seeking additional health information from trusted sources to prevent coronary heart disease.
