Abstract

Background: Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are a major health problem that continues to increase both globally and nationally. NCDs include coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke, COPD, cancer, and chronic kidney disease (CKD), which can lead to various chronic conditions and are the leading causes of death worldwide. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the risk factors of noncommunicable diseases, including blood pressure, random blood glucose, body mass index (BMI), and cholesterol. Objective To determine the frequency distribution of non-communicable disease (NCD) risk factors among residents of RT 01, Limau Village, Sembawa Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency. Methods: This study employed a quantitative descriptive design with 66 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation and examination of NCD risk factors, and analyzed using univariate analysis. The assessed NCD risk factors included blood pressure, random blood glucose levels, height and weight, and cholesterol levels. Results: The respondents had an average age of 51 years, with the majority being female (71.2%), having a low level of education (51.5%), and working as housewives (68.2%). High blood pressure was found in 51.5% of respondents, overweight body mass index (BMI) in 62.1%, and normal cholesterol levels in 72.8%. Moreover, most respondents had normal random blood glucose levels (97%). Conclusion: Residents of Limau Village RT 01 have relatively high risk factors for non-communicable diseases, particularly obesity and elevated cholesterol levels. Suggestion: Respondents are expected to maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly, avoid smoking and alcohol consumption, and routinely check their health at the nearest healthcare facilities. Keywords: Random Blood Glucose, Body mass index, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure.
