Abstract

Research conducted to determine the relationship between Hedonistic Lifestyle and Peer Conformity with Consumptive Behaviour in College Students. This study aims to determine the pattern of the relationship between Hedonistic Lifestyle and Peer Conformity with Consumptive Behaviour in College Students. The subjects of this study were 140 students aged 18 to 24 years. This study uses quantitative methods with nonprabability sampling techniques by incidental sampling. The scale distribution method uses google form. The scale that has been distributed has a reliability value of 0.941 on the Hedonistic Lifestyle scale, a Peer Conformity scale of 0.796 and Consumptive Behaviour of 0.845. The Major Hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a relationship between Hedonistic Lifestyle and Peer Conformity with Consumptive Behaviour in College Students. Testing using multiple linear regression tests with a significant value of 0.007 (sig <0.05). The first minor hypothesis using Pearson correlation test is that there is no relationship between Hedonistic Lifestyle and Consumptive Behaviour with a significant value of -0.003 (sig<0.05). The second minor hypothesis using the Pearson correlation test obtained a positive relationship between Peer Conformity and Consumptive Behaviour with a significant value of 0.004 (sig <0.05). Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that the major hypothesis is accepted, while the Hedonistic Lifestyle is not.
