Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of sales growth, asset structure, and good corporate governance on financial distress, focusing on companies in the iron and steel sector as well as the textile and garment sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2023 period. The data used in this study is secondary data. The population consists of companies in the iron and steel sector and the textile and garment sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, resulting in a total of 27 companies with 131 samples. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple regression analysis with the bootstrapping method. The results of the study indicate that sales growth has a positive effect on financial distress, asset structure has a negative effect on financial distress, the board of commissioners has a positive effect on financial distress, and the audit committee has no effect on financial distress.
