Abstract
Background : The Ministry of Health recommends centrifuging blood samples 20-30 minutes after collection to maintain the quality of test results. This study accelerates centrifugation before that time to improve testing efficiency without compromising laboratory result accuracy.. Objective : To determine the difference in triglyceride levels between blood samples centrifuged for 5 minutes and 30 minutes after sample collection Methods : This study is a quantitative research with an analytical observational design using a cross-sectional approach. The subjects of this study were 37 students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Venous blood was collected in approximately 2 ml of serum separator gel vacutainer tubes, which were then centrifuged to obtain serum that was analyzed using the Biolabo Kenza 450 TX. Statistical analysis was performed using the Paired T-Test with a 95% confidence level. Results : here is no difference in triglyceride levels between blood samples centrifuged 5 minutes and those centrifuged 30 minutes after blood collection. Conclusion : Future research can use a larger sample size with different analytes and different methods.
