Abstract
Preschool age starts from 3-6 years old. During this time, children undergoing hospitalization may experience anxiety, trauma and stress. So to reduce this anxiety, play therapy can be applied. One form of play therapy suitable for preschoolers is puzzle play. Puzzle games require concentration and calmness, so they can distract children from the medical procedures they are undergoing. Knowing the effectiveness of the application of puzzle play therapy in preschool children who experience hospitalization on reducing anxiety levels in the hospital. This case study research uses a descriptive method with a nursing process approach which aims to determine the effectiveness of puzzle play therapy on anxiety levels in preschool children experiencing hospitalization. The data collection process was carried out on 3 respondents by conducting puzzle play therapy for 10-15 minutes for each respondent. Based on the application of puzzle play therapy to 3 children where An. S day one anxiety scale 4 to 3, the second day from scale 3 to 2 and the third day from scale 2 to 1, An. A day one anxiety scale 4 to 3, the second day from scale 3 to 2 and the third day from scale 2 to 1, for child An.B day one anxiety scale 3 to 2, the second day from scale 2 to 2 and the third day from scale 2 to 1. So the results of the study found that puzzle play therapy effectively reduces anxiety in preschool children who experience hospitalization. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in the application of play therapy to reduce anxiety in preschool children who are experiencing hospitalization.
